HORROR HIGH MPLS: DIRECTOR JOHNNY GRIESE

PRODUCTION DATES: AUGUST 12-16

The 2024 Minneapolis production of Horror High Film Camp will feature Director Johnny Griese and Educational Producer Lily Rains. Johnny has spent the last fifteen years working in film and television. He has worked on shows for networks ABC, History, Travel, and Food Network, and has been a part of multiple feature films, including Dear White People and A Christmas Break-in. Lily is a Swiss Army knife of storytelling, seamlessly navigating TV/film, theatre, and education spaces. Prioritizing community-building, artist advocacy, and mentorship, she fosters brave and inclusive spaces in all her roles – whether as a teaching artist, intimacy professional, script doctor, or filmmaker. Her long list of film and television credits include Animal Kingdom, Bosch, and Super Pumped.

Together with a crew of professional filmmakers and mentors, and a youth crew of up-and-coming filmmakers, they will produce the short film Mama’s Boy, a comic-horror short about the lengths a mother will go to to keep her son close.
